Editor screen updates
Along with other changes across the system, we have made a few updates to the editor. These changes are focused on enhancing the editing experience by opening up the space and making it feel a bit more intuitive, easy to navigate and use.
Below is a rundown of the key changes we’ve made:
More real estate for editing
The editing experience is like no other in Dokio. Maximising real estate to focus on your artwork without unnecessary clutter was one of our objectives in rethinking the editor. So we have hidden the main navigation menu from the editor to open up the available space.
So, how do I navigate to another page?
Navigating away from the editor is now done via a dedicated button at the top of the screen to exit the editor and return to the regular Dokio interface.
Dedicated exit editor button
As part of our goal to free up space with the main navigation menu hidden within the editor, we’ve had to rethink how users will navigate away from the editor. We’ve created a new button at the top left of the editor screen to allow you to do this. This is not only a more intuitive location for this, but it also helps to separate it from other functions within the editor.
Export button
The export button has been relocated to below the editing panel on the left of screen to assist with freeing up more space for the artwork preview and controls.
Draft title editing
We’ve restyled the draft editing function. Clicking anywhere on the title will allow you to edit the title. The title area will expand as you type to cater for longer titles. Very long titles however, will be truncated, but you can hover over them to display the full title in a tooltip.
Saving status indicator
Dokio autosaves all your changes as you go, but this process can sometimes take longer in some cases depending on complexity and size of files. We’ve added a saving indicator to the top right of the screen to help users understand if their artwork has saved prior to exiting the editor.
