Module updates
As our clients use of Dokio expands, we have seen some opportunities to make modules more accommodating and streamlined to help meet these growing needs. Below are a few changes we have made to help automate some module functionality.
Custom module naming
As the name suggests, modules can be given different names (or titles) based on the content within them, to assist with easier navigation and management of content. Although this feature has been in the system for a little while now, it was limited to the use of simple text fields to control the custom naming of a module.
We have now expanded this feature to make it more useful and flexible by allowing the module name to be updated in the following ways:
- selecting a copydeck entry from a dropdown
- selecting an dropdown item within a conditional field
- updating a text field within a conditional field
Long module names will be automatically truncated. You can hover over them to see the full name. |
Auto numbering of modules
Some of the more complex templates in Dokio rely heavily on the use of modules to group content together. In a growing number of cases, they are used to control content on certain pages (such as presentations or decks of social media tiles / screens). For these sort of templates, shuffling module order around controls page order.
So we’ve added the option of allowing modules to auto-number based on their order in the editor. As users shuffle modules around in the editor, the numbering will also update, making it easier to keep track of which page is which. When combined with custom module naming, you have more meaningful module names that are always up-to-date and relevant.
Auto-add module
When there is only a single module to select from when adding a new module to a template, we now automatically add it when you click the button to add a new module.
