Attention Microsoft Internet Explorer users
Dokio aims to deliver a product that not only meets our customers’ needs, but delivers the best user experience possible.
As Microsoft Internet Explorer (MSIE) is no longer receiving updates, there is a growing gap between it and all other browsers. As a result, we need to put considerable effort in to create workarounds and special fixes for issues that only appear in that browser. Its limitations and age places restrictions on how we can evolve Dokio technically and impedes our ability to deliver the reliability and functionality our customers expect.
So, to maintain the best possible experience for all our users, we have ceased support for this browser and we require all our Microsoft Internet Explorer users to upgrade to a modern browser.
Why have we done this?
In 2015, Microsoft released the Edge browser as a replacement for MSIE. Because of this, Microsoft Internet Explorer no longer receives major updates adding functionality that supports complex web apps like Dokio.
In 2018, Microsoft announced plans to make Edge broadly available across more versions of Windows beyond Windows 10.
MSIE equates to about 0.8% of all browser usage globally in January 2021. This is a rapidly declining figure as a majority of people take up usage on other browsers.
What are your options?
Dokio works best in modern browsers, so if you use MSIE, we recommend you switch to one of the following browsers to ensure you get the best Dokio experience. Depending on your system, you may have one of these browsers installed already and it may be a simple case of switching your default browser.
Google Chrome (63% usage globally)
Microsoft Edge (3.5% usage globally)
Mozilla Firefox (3.6% usage globally)
If you specifically need to use a Microsoft browser, we suggest upgrading to the latest version of Microsoft Edge.
