Artwork zooming for PDF and Image artworks

We’ve updated the way the zoom function works for PDF and Image artworks to work based on a percentage of artwork size, so there is greater clarity around the output size of the artwork.

There are a few additional benefits of this feature, which include:

Larger preview images

By default, image previews now appear larger on first load of an artwork. We have also increased the size of the preview image to show more detail and better quality when zooming.

Preset sizes

Clicking on the zoom amount will present you with a number of preset zoom options. These will vary depending on the size of the artwork. Each of the percentage ratios relate to the final output size.

For most artworks, we are able to display a preview image at 100% of the output size. Larger artworks (greater than A3) may display at a lower scale - but still be large enough to see the detail required.

Preview images for PDFs are still a lower quality image than the final output and shouldn’t be used to determine output quality.

Fit to page

When opening an artwork, or creating a new draft, the preview will automatically display fitting to page allowing you to see the entire artboard. For artworks smaller than the screen size, they will load automatically at 100% scale.

Manual zoom controls

Clicking on the + and - zoom buttons will allow you to be able to manually control the zoom amount. At smaller sizes, they will change by 10% increments. Above 150% zoom, they will jump to 25% increments.
