Create a schedule
Allow a template to be part of a schedule
In template settings, you will notice a checkbox that asks ‘Yes allow scheduling’. Ensure this is checked for any templates that you want to be part of a schedule/s. This important step tells Dokio that you wish to use different settings to govern the schedules live times and user group settings.
Once checked, you can assign any existing schedules to the template by selecting from the list of active and upcoming schedules below. The template will then automatically be added to those schedules.
If for any reason, you wish to reactivate a template after a schedule period ends, you can simply add the template to the required user groups within 'Template Settings'.
Create a schedule
Provided you’ve been granted the relevant permission to modify schedules in your access level, you can create a schedule by following the steps below:
- On the Admin section dropdown list, under 'Templates' you’ll see in the submenu called 'Scheduler'. In there select 'Create a new schedule +'
- Schedule name: give the schedule a meaningful name that will help to distinguish it from the other schedules.
- Start time: choose a date and time from within the date picker to start the schedule. Leave blank if you wish to select 'Infinity'
- End time: choose a date and time from within the date picker to end the schedule. Leave blank if you wish to select 'Infinity'
- Select template/s and preset/s: search and select the relevant templates and presets to add to the schedule by checking the box next to its name - set as many templates and presets as you need to. Templates and presets can also be added to a schedule from their respective 'Settings' page.
- Set user groups: select the relevant user group/s you wish this schedule to go live to
- Click 'Create schedule'.
The schedule should now be set up and ready to go live during your nominated times.
Accessing schedule templates
Templates will automatically appear to users as normal in their Create screen during the schedule period. Clicking on them will open a new draft.
Editing a schedule
At any stage, you may need to go back to the Scheduler section in Admin to modify a schedule. You can change all details like start and end times, as well as the nominated templates and assigned user groups. Changes will be reflected immediately.
Active / Upcoming / Completed schedules
Within the Scheduler window, there is a filter with 4 states - All, Active, Upcoming and Completed. By default, 'all' schedules will be displayed as soon as you open this section. To help show only relevant schedules, the list can be filtered to only show schedules that are either 'active' (currently active), 'upcoming' (scheduled but not yet active), or 'completed' (schedule ended).
You can edit any Completed schedules to easily reactivate it. In this case, it will automatically re-appear in Active or Upcoming schedules once it has been edited.
How do I remove a schedule from a template or preset?
There are two things you need to do to make sure a schedule has been removed from a template or preset.
- Uncheck the 'Yes, allow scheduling' checkbox in template settings or preset settings
- Check for any associated schedules on the template or preset settings overview screen. Click on the relevant schedules to deselect that template or preset from those schedule.
