Email - download options

For email templates, there are three main download options available that can be applied to a template. One or more of these options can be set on a template for users to select from when they export their email artwork. These are especially useful when you are using an external email service provider.

Depending on the setup of your downloadable email template, you may see one or more of these options available at export.

A note on image assets

When image assets are exported, they are given a unique filename which pairs to the HTML file that is output. The first 6 digits of the image filename is the Dokio artwork ID it relates to.

We recommend not renaming images to avoid breaking the associated links within the email HTML.

The different export options include:

Local assets

The Local assets option will download the entire email as a zip archive containing the following:

  • HTML file
  • Plain text file (TXT)
  • Images folder containing all image assets

Hosted assets

The Hosted assets option will download the entire email as a zip archive, but any image assets will be hosted on Dokio. (This option is not available when using variations)

The downloaded file will contain the following:

  • HTML file
  • Plain text file (TXT)

Hosted url

At export, this option will provide the user with a link to the email - which is fully hosted on Dokio.

(This option is not available when using variations)

Windows 10 users
You must ensure that you unzip the entire file before you preview your email. Windows 10 has an option to view the files whilst they are still zipped. Unfortunately, the HTML file will not be able to find all of the links unless the file is fully unzipped first.
